Fisher Achieves ATS Designation

Melissa Fisher, president and licensed physical therapist at Progressive Medical Equipment, LLC in Lenexa, has gained her ATS (Assistive Technology Supplier) credentials through The Rehabilitation Engineering and Assistive Technology Society of North America (RESNA). RESNA is a not-for-profit, interdisciplinary association which aims to improve the use of technology for people with disabilities through research, development, education, advocacy and support to those providing assistive technology.

To achieve the ATS designation, Fisher had to fulfill all eligibility requirements and pass the credentialing exam. These requirements include a combination of relevant education and experience, as well as adherence to a Code of Ethics and rules as outlined in the RESNA Standards of Practice.

Owner and founder of Progressive Medical Equipment, Gerald Sloan, stated that “this is just another step in demonstrating our commitment to a high level of expertise in providing medical equipment to our community members with disabilities.” “Gaining our ATS through an independent organization such as RESNA ensures our customers that they are working with a qualified company, giving them greater peace of mind,” said Sloan.
